Supervision of Medical Cosmetology Is Strengthened and “Problem” Medical Cosmetic Medicine Is Often Exposed.

Since October, 2015, CFDA, MIIT, Ministry of Public Security, National Health and Family Planning Commission of PRC and SAIC have carried out a special nationwide action to struggle for illegal manufacture, sale and use of injection-based sodium hyaluronate (which is commonly known as hyaluronic acid). It plays a role of fundamental reform in medical cosmetology.

For example, Beijing will have a three-month centralized problem-addressing action for micro plastic surgery of “Beauty Shield”; Shenzhen Customs implemented a large action with code of “Justice 16” to prevent and counter smuggling of injection-based sodium hyaluronate; Moreover, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Shandong and Shaanxi also have special problem-addressing actions responding to the call. I’ll show you some exposed typical cases since last October as below.

1.It will focus on combating illegal micro plastic surgery and punishing unqualified foreign cosmetic surgeons in Beijing starting from this month.

Based on the circular of Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning, punished case of illegal medical cosmetic rose 58% in Beijing last year compared to 2014. Beijing Health Inspection will develop a special action with theme of “Beauty Shield” to struggle for illegal micro plastic surgery all over the city from this month to make centralized investigation and management to life cosmetology places and illegal individual medical cosmetic actions. It’s obvious that injection-based sodium hyaluronate is chaotic as a “star product” of medical cosmetology from the above cases. According to incomplete statistics, over 40 cases have been exposed since implementation of the special action on combating illegal manufacture, sale and use of injection-based sodium hyaluronate operated by CFDA and five ministries and commissions.

So far, the “problem” injection-based sodium hyaluronate used by illegal micro plastic surgery has two categories: one is unauthentic smuggled goods which are delivered to inland in the manner of tax evasion. They are often described to be legal goods which are cheap because they come from the manufacturer directly. The other one is unbranded and dateless product manufactured by a nameless factory without national approval. Then a few people who quest for beauty use smuggled or fake products for cheapness or are cheated because they are short of awareness and ability of identifying true or fake injection-based sodium hyaluronate.

We have to make people informed that only 10 types of injection-based sodium hyaluronate have been approved by the nation including Matrifill. Therefore, besides keeping off the exposed “problem” injection-based sodium hyaluronate, it’s more important for consumers to remember the state-approved brands and support legal medical cosmetic products.
